In this episode,  Multidisciplinary artist and Kuwait’s NFT queen Shurooq Amin, shares her transitional journey from being a lecturer at Kuwait university to becoming an NFT artist. She mentions how facing criticism and backlash on her art from the community led her to enter into NFT space and having gone through tough challenges and sacrifices during the time enabled her to turn her art into NFTs as a way of expressing herself without fear of oppression and censorship, in addition to this she talks about the NFT space and how people can create NFTs to get into this platform as an artist.
Shurooq Amin is a renowned artist and poet who strives to instigate positive change in society. She is the first Kuwaiti woman to be interviewed by BBC’s Stephen Sackur on HARD Talk, She has had 15 solo exhibitions, more than 45 group exhibitions, her paintings have been sold at auctions, commissioned privately and publicly, awarded prizes locally and internationally. She was awarded the title Artist of the Year by the Arab Woman Awards. She is the first Kuwaiti female artist to be auctioned at Christie’s auction house. Shurooq Amin was listed as one of the top 50 GCC Women Leaders and has been the recipient of the Extraordinary Women In Leadership award by World Congress Brand. She has turned to the world of NFTs as a platform for freedom of expression, using NFT art as a utility for freedom, getting her message across universally without fear of oppression or censorship.
